Whistler/Blackcomb.
We went for the powder ........
When we arrived in Vancouver BC the temperature was 18C and the
country was suffering from a mini-drought.
After picking up the hired Ford Explorer we headed for the slopes. 4 days later,
after spending hours in long queues, dodging moguls
and a general lack of snow we headed south to California.
Kalifornication.
Zoomed down the Pacific Highway past volcanic peaks. In Oregon found out it was illegal to
serve yourself petrol, and got a speeding ticket entering California (I was only doing 85 mph!).

Mott Canyon, Heavenly
Lake Tahoe/Mount Baker.
Found accomodation in Tahoe City and spent a few days at Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows.
Moved onto Heavenly and the brightlights and casinos of South Lake Tahoe. It snowed! we had found
some powder and had backcountry fun in Mott and Killebrew Canyon.
On the way back to Vancouver we had to stop off at the fabled resort of Mount Baker.
Decided to go off-piste, but were caught by the piste police.
We had left our transceivers in the car!
Found a great board shop in Bellingham and bought
a K2 Eldorado for 200 quid. Purchased other goodies at REI.
