SOUTH MIDLANDS/CHILTERN HILLS NORTH MTB TRAILS:



Silverstone:
Distance: 30km Grade: Moderate
Circular route north of Silverstone, including the infamous ancient byway Banbury lane, (difficult when wet).
Hanslope Circular:
Distance: 30km Grade: Easy
Using various bridleways and quiet lanes between Milton Keynes and Salcey Forest, (difficult when fields ploughed).
Whaddon Chase:
Distance: 26km Grade: Easy
Starting from Stony Stratford the route uses the North Bucks/Swans Way and quiet roads/bridleway to Whaddon.
Aspley Woods/Bow Brickhill:
Distance: 22km Grade: Moderate/Difficult
From Caldecotte Lake, includes steep hill from Bow Brickhill and various trails in Wavendon Heath/Aspley Wood.
Marston Vale/Greensand Ridge:
Distance: 32km Grade: Moderate
After the singletracks in Aspley Woods, follow the Marston Vale trail and then head back along the Greensand Ridge.
Quainton Hill:
Distance: 23km Grade: Moderate
Climbs to Quainton Hill (187m) and follows the North Bucks Way to East Claydon, before returnig via a Roman road.
Chipping Norton:
Distance: 29km Grade: Moderate
From Chipping Norton, mainly good tracks, two long climbs (Chastleton Hill, Rollright Ridge) and good views North.
Icknield Way/Lilley Hoo:
Distance: 30 km Grade: Difficult
East of Luton, many good bridleways around Warden Hill, Lilley Hoo, then a final climb on Icknield towards Pegsdon.
Aldbury/Berkhamsted Common:
Distance: 33km Grade: Difficult
From Aldbury, along Icknield way from Ivinghoe and back through woodland of Berkhamsted Common.
Naphill/Bledlow Ridge:
Distance: 25km Grade: Difficult
From Naphill, bridleways to Chinnor, along the Ridgeway, back past Radnage and then uphill from West Wycombe.

The Ridgeway:

Distance: 140km
Day 1 Avebury to Wantage:

Distance: 58km Grade: Strenuous
Day 2 Wantage to Ivinghoe:

Distance: 82km Grade: Strenuous
