Saulire/Croix Verdons.
From the Saulire cable car a no. of couloirs can be reached.
Under the upper station are the 'Sous Pylons' which are steep short runs, along the
ridge path towards the 'Grand Couloir' is 'Emile Allais'. Technically tricky but little used, so should
have better powder than the 'Grand Couloir'.
The best of the couloirs are 'Du Cure' and 'Croix des Verdons'. Follow the ridge path towards the 'Grand Couloir' then traverse left.
You will see tracks heading up La Croix des Verdons, so follow these and continue along a narrow ridge.
Both are brilliant long steep couloirs, and with deep snow, boarders will bomb.
Below Roc Merlot
Vallee des Avals
Aiguille de Fruit.
Many off-piste opportunities in the Creux bowl, stretching from Vizelle to Chanrossa.
From the Creux Noirs chair is the Col du Fruit, and if you climb the ridge to the left is the Couloir Creux Noir.
Also great off-piste routes into the Vallee des Avals, including 'The Canyon'. From the Chanrossa chair, climb to the Roc Merlet and descend into
the valley passing the chalets at Biol and a long flat section to Pralin Mugnier and Courchevel 1650.
Col de la Loze.
There is good off-piste fun under and right of the Lanches chair.
Bozel.
When there is bad weather in the mountains, a good off-piste route from Courchevel 1850 is to the village of Bozel.
Halfway down Brigues piste turn off right towards La Chouliere and then follow the woodland clearings to Saint Bon and
then Bozel (altitude 800 metres).
