ALPE DI SIUSI/VAL GARDENA:

Rif. Bolzano/Mont Pez - ascent 1120 metres, time - 7 hours
   'A popular walk on clearly marked paths in the Parco Naturale
   dello Sciliar. Starting at Compaccio, it crosses beautiful alpine
   meadows, then after Saltnerhutte ascends a series of steady
   zigzags to the altipiano dello Sciliar and Rif. Bolzano. Its then
   a short climb to Mont Pez (2563m) and breathtaking views.'

   Schlern/Sciliar

Alpe di Siusi/Bulacia - ascent 350 metres, time - 4 hours
   'Easy circular walk around the Bulacia/Puflatsch, a insignificant
   slab-like mountain, with great views of Sassolungo-Sassopiatto
   and the terraced flanks of Sella. Near the summit (2174m) are
   the Hexelbanke,a minor phenomenon of volcanic origin where in
   the late Middle Ages witches were said to congregate.'

Sassopiatto/Sassolungo - ascent 1340 metres, time - 2 days
   'A superb high altitude walk starting and finishing at Passo Sella.
   Day 1 involves walking along the panoramic Friedrich August Weg
   to Rif. Sassopiatto (great views SE to Marmolada and W to Sciliar)
   and a strenous climb to the summit of Sassopiatto (2958m).
   Day 2 leaving the refuge on path N527, which curves around the
   flanks of Sassopiatto, ascend past Rif. Vicenza and up the
   Vallon del Sassolungo (a barren scree and snow wilderness) to
   Rif. Demetz (2681m). It's then a 500m descent back to the pass.'
