FAQS ABOUT THE TREK:

Getting There:
There are regular flights to Geneva and Zurich with the airline Easyjet. I bought two single tickets: Luton to Zurich (approximately 60 pounds) and Geneva to Luton (approximately 50 pounds). From Zurich to Altdorf there are regular trains, although you have to get a bus from Fluelen to Altdorf. On the way home there are regular trains from Montreux to Geneva airport.

Accomodation: I used a variety of campsites, mountain
huts, cheap hotels and Youth Hostels along the route.
All campsites were good with showers and hot water, especially recommended Gleischerdorf campsite at Grindelwald.
Mountain huts/Matratzenlagers are basically dormitory accomodation with basic meals and drinks. The best was at Attinghausen (25 SFr and it included a swimming pool!)
Hotels used on the route included Hotel des Fontaines (Col Des Mosses) only 25 SFr and Berghaus Golderli (Griesalp) expensive at 50 SFr. Plus I used Engelberg Youth Hostel, which was 40 SFr a night, but included dinner.

Transport Options: All valleys have regular Postbus services, plus there are various cable cars and gondola's
to ease those uphill/downhill battles. These include:
Attinghausen to Brusti (day one),
Engelberg to Jochenpass (day two),
Grindelwald to Kleine Schedeigg (day five),
Lauterbrunnen to Murren (day six),
Kandersteg to Allmealp (day eight),
Lenk to Betelberg (day 10) and Caux to Montreux (day 12).
