Day 8: Evolene to Cabane de Moiry. distance 16kms, time 9 hours "Not part of the Walkers Haute Route so waymarking non-existent. Beautiful hot day, walked up through the alpine meadows to Col de Couronne (2987m). The path up the col climbed steeply, with a heavy rucsack my feet kept slipping on unstable scree and rock, certain parts involved scrambling. From the top headed down towards Moiry glacier, crossed on a level section and up a rough path to Cabane de Moiry (2825m)". WALKING WORLD	Cabane Moiry	Day 9: Cabane Moiry to Zinal. distance 13kms, time 6 hours "The matron of the establishment woke me up at 6am! typical French breakfast of bread, jam and hot chocolate. Another dry, clear day, stayed on a high path contouring the mountainside, then slogged up Col de Sorebois. On reaching the col, magnificient scenery, the Bishorn and Weisshorn dominating the view.
