"Parked the car, repacked and then headed towards the Oberaargletscher. At first the glacier was fairly level, but it gradually became steeper and was covered with snow. A party coming down nearly fell into a crevasse. Eventually reached the col with the Oberaarjochhutte (3256m) in view. The final scramble up some rocks with an awesome view of Finsteraarhorn." THE ALPS ONLINE	Climbing down the Oberaarhorn	Day 2: Oberaarjoch Hut to Finsteraar Hut via Oberaarhorn. ascent 3256m to 3631m, 9.5 hrs. "Left the hut at 7.45am and the first 100 metres was a rock scramble. Put on crampons for the final steep snow slope to reach the summit of the Oberaarhorn (3631m) a fine rocky pyramid. Magnificent views including a distant Matterhorn and Monte Rosa. In the afternoon walked roped up towards the Finsteraarhornhutte (3048m) via Studergletscher and Gemschucke (a narrow col).
